Facebook Includes Devoted Gaming Section To Its Mobile App

Facebook is upgrading its mobile application with a devoted gaming center where consumers can explore gaming material on Facebook. To highlight the significance that Facebook is aiming at the hub, the firm is including it to the sidebar and as an alternative for the app’s customizable navigation bar. The new center will offer a common place to play Instant Games of Facebook as well as find new ones, see gaming clips from streamers, and connect & join with gaming groups that are already present on the platform.

It is difficult not to see the decision as the firm’s newest effort to capture some of the massive gaming users that feeds on rivals such as YouTube and Twitch. But it appears unlikely that an app center on its own will be sufficient to incline the scales in its favor. The firm is launching out the new tab gradually, so it might not seem just yet in your app. In addition to this, the firm is also beginning to beta-test a separate Facebook Gaming application for Android that the company claims might provide even more functions as compared to the present tab.

On a related note, the classic snake game from Nokia was launched earlier with AR (augmented reality). HMD Global, the firm that makes Nokia handsets, earlier relaunched the game after incorporating it with AR camera from Facebook. The game is universally accessible (and not just on Nokia handsets) on machines well-matched with both iOS and Android. This brings it to the widest user base ever since its beginning.

The addictive premise of the game stays similar, but with an enjoyable AR twist, the firm claimed to the media in an interview. Gamers can customize the game play locations such as zoo, beach, or plane employing the Facebook camera. In addition to this, the game play can be live broadcasted to news feed on Facebook and joined by friends employing the Facebook Live functionality of the social media website.
