The newest addition to Hyundai's Ioniq lineup, the Ioniq 6, may seem like an unconventional choice for the brand, but it's surprisingly successful. While shifting from an SUV to a sedan may go against the current trends of the automotive market, the Ioniq 6 stands out as one of the best sedans available. With a sleek and upscale design, it's a refreshing change from the futuristic and overdone "everything is a screen now" approach seen in many electric vehicles. Instead, the Ioniq 6 is a vehicle that just happens to be electric.
Hyundai and its sister brand Kia have really hit the mark with their electric offerings, while others are still struggling to find their footing. The Ioniq 6 comes with two battery options and a choice between rear-wheel and all-wheel drive. The all-wheel drive model boasts an impressive 320 horsepower and a range of 316 miles per charge, which we found to be fairly accurate in our test drive. The sedan also handles well, taking advantage of the natural benefits of a battery-powered powertrain.
